Many conferences offer cavernous exhibit halls, brief seminars on second-hand discoveries, and a sense of anonymity that can be truly alienating.

User Experience takes a different approach.

Knowledge, Directly from the Source

In place of scattered, shallow talks, UE offers up to 6 days of deep learning as international experts lead 31 full-day tutorials on topics such as:

  • Turning usability data into interaction design
  • Improving usability for complex applications
  • Capitalizing on cutting-edge usability research
  • Applying information architecture (IA) principles
  • Managing user experience strategy

Course levels range from introductory to advanced; you can sign up for as few as 1 or 2 days or as many as 6.

Industry leaders carefully design each tutorial to emphasize practical application, offering you maximum return-on-investment.

Many sessions include hands-on training exercises that let you apply what you learn immediately; all ensure that you’ll learn tools you can use to improve your website, intranet, or application as soon as you get home.

Because you’ll spend each day in a group with in-depth focus on a single topic, you can discuss problems, share solutions, and make lasting connections with your peers.

In the evening, conference-wide events offer discussions on broader topics and the chance to meet and swap experiences with a diverse group of user experience professionals from around the world.

In this year’s plenary sessions:

  • Donald A. Norman will draw from his forthcoming book on sociable design, describing the social nature of all tasks and how understanding it can help you elevate your site's design and user experience far above the ordinary.
  • Chris Nodder will focus on usability’s dark side and explain why—after years of frustrated efforts at global domination—usability professionals are now better positioned than ever to take over the world and subjugate its users by dashing their expectations, manipulating their behaviors, and employing any number of other 'Usability for Evil' secrets.
